Growing Hindu Kush: flowering time, yield and breeder specs

Seed versions of Hindu Kush flower fast: 45–50 days for Sensi Seeds’ line and 55–65 days for Barney’s Farm’s, with Leafly giving 7–9 weeks. Breeders call it compact and easy; its weak spot is damp air.1,2,3,4,5

What the plant is like

Expect a short, bushy plant with broad, dark-green leaves and short, strong branches that put much of their energy into one central cola; sellers and Leafly recommend sea-of-green setups.1,4,7 Sensi Seeds says its line gives uniform seedlings, and Barney’s Farm says its plants tolerate cold and often turn purple in cooler weather.1,2

What to watch for

Humidity. Sensi Seeds calls its feminized plants resistant to disease and mould, but Leafly’s grow guide says the strain suffers with moisture and recommends strong airflow through the dense canopy.4,7 Writing in Cannabis Business Times, Mojave Richmond and Robert C. Clarke explain why: Afghan landraces evolved in a dry climate with few fungi, so plants of Afghan heritage are highly susceptible to fungal attack, especially in humid grow rooms.5 Even Sensi Seeds’ own Kush guide says Kush strains struggled in North America’s cooler, more humid winters.6

Seeds and the law in the US

Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.9 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.10 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
